Fresh Paint!

First attempt taping out lines! I still have to clear coat. I was originally going to just do ovals on the sides but I couldn't get them to match up.

Don't be such a sissy!

Scored these sissy bar plates part of a package deal off of CL a while back, they are off a 07 sporty so the holes won't line up for earlier sportys. I found out a fellow 33er needed some plates and I don't need them so I did a little modification on them:) a good excuse to pull out the grinder and welder! They aren't perfect but they should do the job.

A work of art!

Sent a tank off to get modified so it's efi compatible with for my 08 sporty. Rene from mercury moto is the fellow that modified for me and I must say he does awesome work! I can't wait to throw some paint on it and get it running again! I do have some other mods to make on the 08 but ill save that story for when it's finished

Screw this, let's go find some food somewhere else...

After meeting up with Cody and Chris from Bellingham near the 35th Annual Bagger Fest (Oyster Run) we headed into the sea of overpriced bolt-on factory custom land to   meetup with Wesley from Marysville. We got lucky finding a parking spot that wasn't too far from the downtown area. Met up with Wesley in the safeway parking lot after he had to wait 10 minutes to take a piss and soon after we made our way into bagger land. We did manage to check out a small bike show and to be honest it probably the best part of the Oyster Run. Just a side note, its not really a "run". Its more of a gathering and I say that because there were no routes planed, everyone kinda did their own thing. After the show we tried to find someplace to grab a bite to eat...yeah that didn't work out too well. So we bailed and rode to Edison to find some grub. We were planning on eating at the long horn saloon however some others had the same idea we did and the town was packed. We did find a diner down the street that wasn't too busy so we lucked out. After that we made our way to Chuck-A-Nut to ride some twistys but once again others had the same idea and it was slow going through the area so we stopped and shot some pics of the bikes. Had a great time meeting up with some  fellow 33ers and hope to do it again soon! - C

Bagger Invasion

I saw this picture the other day and couldn't think how appropriate the timing was with the oyster run coming up this Sunday. Clint is going to test out his ghetto go pro and try to get some good video of the ride there. The battery is on the charger for my dslr camera and we will try to find some great bikes in a sea of duchebaggery.

Recycled Biker Stuff

The old man called me last week and told me about this store he found in Marysville that sells second bike parts and riding gear, so I dropped by to check it out. There is a ton of take off parts from stock harley's and some jap stuff too. there is even a bunch of aftermarket parts hiding under stuff if you have a good eye. I picked up a bolt on Ironhead hard tail and fender and a wire mesh air cleaner that looks like it hasn't been used for under 50 bucks. They will be moving to the old Weller's restaurant right across from Denny's at the Arlington exit 208 just off of I5. here is a link to their website, their inventory changes all the time so they don't list parts but it is worth the trip.

Ghetto GoPro

I don't exactly have 250 bucks to fork out for a real GoPro (especially sense I'm saving up for a weld on hard tail) so I made this instead. I still got to road test it. I used one of those iphone/ipod Pelican cases and bolted some adel clamps to it. I should be able to try it out Wednesday...

Just need a little back pressure.

Wayne mentioned there wasn't much getup when taking off in first gear so today we fabed up some baffles. We threw them in and Wayne took HK for a spin. sounds like they did the trick!

Choices

While Clint flips coins I'm sitting here drinking a questionable substance from a mason jar pondering weather or not to put cams in the HKR, or have the extra set of cylinders  that I traded some parts for bored out to 1212. On one hand the extra horse power would be nice but the simple truth of the 883 is that it is just plain gutless with no torque. The engine needs some decent cams to bring her back to life and get me out of hairy situations. Eventually the engine will have an entire overhaul but its one thing at a time for now.

Heads or Tails...

So I have been thinking about doing a engine upgrade on the 86 lately (more than likely it'll be a 1212 setup) but after seeing the latest news article on Chop Cult about a Led Sled weld on hardtail my thoughts started leaning towards modding the frame first seeing as the 86 already has some engine mods and it runs just fine for now. So what better way to decide which to do first than to flip a coin... Looks like I'll be picking up a Weld-on hard tail soon! - C

Chuck-a-nut Ride

Wayne and I went for a ride to Chuckanut today (old Hwy 11). We tried to get some fellow 33ers to come up from Seattle area but had no luck. (It is labor day weekend so we knew it would be rough) Chuckanut (the good section) is a nine mile stretch of road that is nice and twisty not to mention scenic stops overlooking the Samish bay. We ended up traveling on that stretch twice and on the way back we stopped at one of the overlooks to shoot some photos. We also stopped in Bayview just before hooking up with  Hwy 20 to shoot some more photos. The sun wasn't cooperating with us on the overlook so this worked out better for photos.  Couldn't ask for a better day to ride! - C

Chris Ashmore's Clean Bonnie

Looks can be deceiving when you don't take the time to notice the little things in life and this bike is no different. Lots of little things to improve performance. I met Chris while re newing our annual OC certification to carry the horrible substance while on patrol. Earlier that morning we passed each other on base both eyeballing one anothers bike. Luckily I ended up in the same place and was not too blind to notice after receiving a dose of vaporized habinero seed. Chris is pretty laid back, and knowledgeable in the local cafe scene. He also does pod casts for all the local guys and with major players around the country like Dime City Cycles. I asked him about his bonnie and he was more than happy mention some of the performance upgrades he has done since purchasing the bike. The rear was a bit springy and the front end had allot of shimmy action going on. Chris was able to score some ZX10 rear shocks and some springs out of an old CB550 to even out the front end and stabilize the ride. He did the intake and exhaust with some cocktail shakers, and tore off the ugly stock turn signals. Some of Chis's future plans are to punch out the cylinders and modified the EFI system to generate some more power and performance out of his clean little bonnie.

Creating our own scene

This Page is dedicated to the local PNW riders who chop their own bikes and ride the hell out of them rain or shine. Were gonna post current builds, cool stuff happening in the area and any sick rides we come across on the rain slick sandy roads out here in the PNW. - W
